As a wife and momma of two, I understand how full life can be and how easy it is to put your own health, dreams, and goals aside as you focus on serving the ones you care about the most.
To give you context of who I am beyond the words on the screen, I want to share a little more of my why with you.
My story begins before I took my first breath.
My mom, Carol, is someone that I never got to meet here on earth. When she was pregnant with me, her third daughter, my mom’s cancer came back. She had been in remission with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, My mom had to make a brave decision, alongside my dad. Together, they decided to keep me over cancer treatment.
I battled with that for a long time. Was my life an accident? Am I at fault? And for a child, it’s a lot. And then the lovely teen years came when life can get hard, that’s when a lot of these thoughts would cross my mind. I found it often easy for myself to become the victim – maybe it would be better if I wasn’t here or you don’t like me because I’m the reason my mom isn’t here today.
I entered the world as a healthy baby and my mom never left the hospital.
Here’s what I know. I was born from sacrifice. And also, from such great love. There’s a reason that I am here.
I understand that I need to do the work on earth that my mom wasn’t able to do anymore.
Myself and my family were both very much supported by a community when I was first born and into my first few years of life. I think that’s partly why I am so drawn to creating a community of support, of love, and of sisterhood.
When things are hard, that’s when you need to be raised up by people and others around you.
As I stand here today, I’m proud of the person I’ve become as a mom, wife, sister, mentor, leader, and friend, but that didn’t come without struggle along the way.
For a very long time, I was looking for love and acceptance in the wrong places. But the love had to start within myself – I finally stopped looking outward and focused on the inside first.
It is for us, and us alone, to figure out what makes us truly happy and sparks pure joy deep at our core. Our kids, our families, our friends – they all bring happiness to our lives and make it better with their presence, but we cannot depend on them to make us happy.
So as you take a look at our information and ways you can join us – coaching, accountability, podcast, etc. – my hope is that you pause and allow yourself to look and search inward.
What will bring you pure joy?
I am here, we are here, for you as mentors and a resource to help you along this journey. But it all starts with you.
I was tired, exhausted, and simply worn out.
I remember it very vividly to this day. It was November 2019 and Jamie and I literally saw each other 4 nights out of the entire month. I remember sitting down next to him and thinking, “Is this really it?” Is this what our life is going to look like? Long days away from home, very little time together as a family in the evenings, exhausted and mentally drained, stressed about finances and possible bankruptcy from a previous business, strained relationships…was this it?
All of this – the struggles and challenges, grounded us to who we are today.
After about 2-3 years of Coaching, we were both able to leave our corporate jobs and go full time with Coaching and mentoring our team.
Now, we help other people build their online wellness businesses and have created a wellness community where we focus on the physical, mental, heart set, and soul set of this journey together. From that, we also started another business called Legacy By Kim.
Within the first 5 years of saying yes to the Coaching opportunity, I’m now a Top Elite 10 Coach and our team continues to grow and inspire each and every single day. Together, our team hustled and achieved the #8 ranking out of over 400,000 coaches in the entire network.
It was also history making as no couple in the company had ever both finished in the Top 10, which Jamie did in 2017, making us also the first 4 X Elite Couple ever.
It’s a special achievement for us and for me, for sure. But what it really signifies is that the women I’m mentoring are building businesses themselves and thriving in our community, and that is what I am most proud of.
